Monday March 13th
Not a lot going on. Week 3 is on the same ship, with the same itinerary. Our friends got off yesterday, so we are back to being just the two of us. We know most of the staff it seems (not really most). It’s comfortable knowing our way around and seeing familiar faces. We have two more weeks on this ship before heading to Delaware for a week to regroup and repack.
The weather at the end of last week and yesterday and today has been yucky. Cold, foggy, and damp with kind of rough seas. Not so bad and we are rocked to sleep at night. Looking for some sun tomorrow we hope.
The ship also had engine trouble last week which meant we missed Cape Canaveral port. They put a bandaid on it so we could get to Nassau and Coco Cay. Picked up parts in Bayonne, NJ on Sunday when we picked up new passengers. We aren’t going to get to Cape Canaveral this time either but with each missed port they give us money back. We like money back.
Just met the Cruise Hotel Director – Tony. We told him the beds are too uncomfortable and he made a call and got us a pillow topper. We had asked for toppers on the Enchantment cruises and was told they don’t have them anymore. Curious to see if we really get one. Now we know who to talk to on the next cruise if the bed is too uncomfortable. We did tell Tony we are enjoying everything else.
Graham’s update: They do not have any spare toppers, which is what we told Tony. A duvet was added under the sheet. It helped some.
The only other thing we have an issue with is the internet. They got Starlink but the infrastructure on the ship can’t handle it. It drops the internet very easily which is one reason we are not blogging a lot.
Sorry you’re not getting to Port Canaveral in time to do anything. Maybe the 4th trip will be more successful!!
