Being on the road
After leaving Park City, Utah we had a couple of driving days of four hours or so. We have been in four states (Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington) in four days. It’s amazing how the landscape changes and you can see this in our photographs. Considering the amount of snow these roads must see with chain-up areas scattered here and there, the roads were in very good condition. The worst roads we have encountered were on our way to the Grand Canyon in Arizona, where you would have to dig yourself out of them on the I40. Even the 18-wheelers were having to swerve or change lanes to avoid them.
The weather has again been great again. We have enjoyed watching a storm/shower develop in front of us, and then we drive through it. The good news is that it does wash some of the bugs off the windscreen!

Gig Harbor
We arrived at our VRBO rental on Wednesday and were met by the owner. A gorgeous place in a great location on Harborview Drive with harbor views from the property. Just look at this place in our photos.
The mountain is Mt Rainier.

Everywhere we drove, the gardens were full of color. We have not seen such a colorful town as this. We guess that they do not have a lot of snow but do have a lot of rain, and now the sun is out (81F today as I type), and the place is gorgeous.

Changes to the schedule
We have been looking at the up coming week once we leave Gig Harbor. We had not factored in enough time to do anything in Yellowstone National Park. We have now added a stop in Bozeman, MT and reduced the stays either side by a day. This will allow us to visit Old Faithful on May 20th. Update schedule/timetable link, click here.

Wow, what a gorgeous place – you are so lucky with the weather too. I didn’t realise how far north you’ve gone; nearly up to the Canadian border. Had to get the atlas out again to find you! Extraordinary how the landscape’s changed from one place to another. Keep having fun 😘
It is supposed to be 87F today and the chance of a storm in the late afternoon. J wounded what their storms are like up here.
We start heading east on Wednesday.
