Chef’s Grill

More Food

When boarding in Fort Lauderdale we signed up for the Chef’s Table as it is 50% off for us. The Chef’s Table is a select few people (12) enjoying a food and wine paring, 6 course, three hour dinner. Andrew, the man touching the lock wall in the Panama Canal, was one of the guests. We don’t normally take food photos but this was a special occasion. Shamus, a turkish waiter had a great sense of humor and was very entertaining with his presentation of the food and wine. So here are the photos.

After looking at the pictures, I think they need some explanation. 1) Our own personal menu. 2) A picture of Graham and I and the amazing pre-dinner cocktail I didn’t want to put down. 3) The most delicious bread I’ve ever had. 4) Course 1 – Scallop Carpaccio – was delicious but not much of it. 5) Course 2 – Smoked Tomato soup – We were a bit premature taking the picture or we should have taken a before and after. This was put before us and then Shamus cam around and poured soup in it. It was the best tomato soup I’ve ever had. (Missing photo of Course 3 – Maine Lobster Salad – again delicious but not a large portion.) 6) Course 4 – Roasted Branzino – I’m not a fish eater for the most part but this was a very mild fish and I was hungry. (missing photo of Course 5 – Grilled Filet Mignon – a larger filet than I would normally order at a restaurant with asparagus, truffled potatoes and bordelaise sauce. NOW I AM FULL! and …) 7) Course 6 – Dessert – Peanut Butter Ganache, Valrhona Chocolate Mousse and Salted Caramel Gelato. 8) Hot chocolate sauce was poured over the ball of chocolate and it imploded with all the goodies inside. I couldn’t eat much of mine but Graham is a trouper and finished his. We both felt as if we were going to explode. Plenty of delicious food and wonderful dinner guests.

Three Sea days.

Chefs table was on one of the sea days. There are three sea days before we get to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We have been chilling out, checking the schedule for when we get on land in Los Angeles, some time spent in the sun and in the evening watching the comedians. We will update our Timetable with our road trip soon.

As we head north the weather is less tropical and cooler. 😔
