About Us

The beginning

Graham and I met in 1976 in Wilmington, DE.  Graham was a young British sailor in the Royal Navy and was in town, and I was 16, the summer before my senior year of High School.  His ship was in the Port of Wilmington before the Bicentennial celebration in New York City, and it was open to the public.

The story is long, but here is the short version:

We wrote letters and made a few journeys across the pond after his ship left.  Got engaged and broke up over the year we were together.  We both moved on to marry (him once, me twice) over the next 23 years.  Fate and a little perseverance on Graham’s part brought us back together in 2001.  We married in 2002 and have lived happily ever after since.

We both love to travel and are up for most adventures.  We have found ourselves having had too many health issues over the years for us to take for granted the opportunity to travel at what is our last chance at the “Go-Go” years before we get to the “Slow-Go” years and the “No-Go” years.  So … after Covid and illness slowed us down for a few years, we are ready to hit the road monumentally.

We have sold or donated just about everything we have.  Our possessions are in a 10’ X 10’ storage facility.  We have forwarded our mail and changed our address, sold our car, and are off on a new adventure.  We will miss family and friends but have plans to come back around and visit during our 18-month-ish adventure.
