Another Ski Resort – Park City, Utah

Sunrise Lodge

As we mentioned in the previous post, we are using our points of various types. This is an HGV property and has an elevation of 6900 feet. Karen, thankfully, is not suffering from altitude sickness here.

This slide show has photographs from around the Ski Resort. Even though the place is closed for the season, it’s still open. I could be happy here because the burger joint, liquor store, and sweet shop with Cadbury chocolate remain open.

Spring is trying to slow starting here. You can see that from the daffodils.

Park City Utah.

Bridal Veil Falls

We went out for the day to look for Bridal Veil Falls for a visit. On our way back, we went through Midway to find Heber Valley Milk & Artisan Cheese. We found the farm shop with great cheeses and ice cream on site and of course, we had to take away some cheese to put in the fridge.

It was lunchtime. We found Midway Mercantile for lunch. They use locally supplied ingredients; the meal was excellent, including the locally brewed beer. We also want to share a desert. This turned out to be a challenge. The staff made a mistake and realized it. They did not want to waste the desert, so they brought us the error dish while warming the correct order. We shared both dishes, of course.

You will notice a dot on the ice below the waterfall in the photo below. This is two people climbing the ice! They did get down the ice successfully. No foodie photos were taken.

Tomorrow we start to head North West towards Washington State. We will be in four different states in four days. These states would be Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

We have updated our timetable page. See the schedule/timetable by clicking here.

  1. Love all your pictures and descriptions of your travels! Stay safe and enjoy every minutes of your travels!!
    Love you both!!🥰🥰

    1. We are having trouble keeping up. Takes a long time for Graham to get the pictures edited and the website updated. Hopefully, next week in Gig Harbor we will catch up but then we will be moving every day or every 2 days for a couple of weeks. I need a vacation. Miss you too.

  2. The ski resort looks like a ghost town— I’m surprised anything was open! Especially surprised the pool was open! Did you swim? ☺️ Too bad they weren’t running the ski lift, just for sightseeing. Looks like the scenery is beautiful, even if you’re not out and about much.

The resort was VERY quiet. Reminded me of The Shining. It was nice not having the place teaming with people. Their winter season just ended and summer season starts June 1st. We timed it right. NO! We didn’t swim. DO YOU KNOW ME??
