Lightning Storm
Last Sunday night, our good run on weather ended explosively. This storm came rumbling in over Kitty Hawk with some force.
After a little while, there was a large explosion, the lights stayed on, and we still had a roof over our heads. The comments were, “That’s Close.” I was in the middle of updating the website over the wifi, and everything was working okay.
Here are four images of damage to a chimney breast and the roof in the next block. This is what we heard as the explosion. Luckely, it looks like there was no fire. We hope all are well.

We were doing some laundry, and the drier was in use. I went to check to see if the clothes were done, and there was a flash from what looked like behind the drier, and all the lights flashed. The electrical grid had been struck somewhere. All seemed fine, the dryer was still turning, and the power was still on!
However, back to the laptop (that was not plugged into power) to continue updating the blog, we lost our wifi connection! Yep, the router had taken a hit. In the words of the Monty Python parrot sketch, ‘E’s not pinin’! ‘E’s passed on! This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! ‘E’s expired and gone to meet ‘is maker!‘
🤣😂 Some of you are too young to know who Monty Python is, so I have the video link below. Enjoy. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Therefore, I finished my last post and this one on a MiFi 5G box from T-Mobile. There should always be a backup when traveling.
